Kapi’olani is well recognized as Hawai’i's leader in the
care of women and children. As the major teaching
hospital for the state’s Pediatric and OB/GYN program,
Kapi'olani has a highly trained transport team of
nurses, respiratory therapists and physician specialists
that share a special understanding of pediatric
population. The Transport Team provides services to patients
for a higher level of care by transporting via fixed
wing or ground transport from a referring facility to an
accepting facility. This equality driven and caring team
incorporates evidence-based practice and stat! e of the
art technologies in their multidisciplinary appro! ach to
care.
The Registered Nurse â€" Transport provides professional
nursing care through assessment, planning,
implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient
care. Functions independently as a team member during
inter-island air and ground transports. Takes on
expanded leadership functions to include monitoring
quality improvement and cost containment.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Must meet education requirements
for Hawai! ’i state licensing. Current Hawai’i RN license.
Current BLS/HCP card. Current PALS or PEARS, NRP, and
ACLS certification. Three years clinical experience
including two years in neonatal or pediatric intensive
care or equivalent combination of education &
experience. Obtain successful completion of KMCWC
transport orientation program.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related
field. Transport experience. More than 2 years
experience in PICU and/or NICU.
