Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawai‘i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds and 66 ba! ssinets, the nonprofit hospital is Hawai‘i’s only specialty maternity, newborn and pediatric hospital. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and pediatric specialty clinics. With a dedicated team of more than 1,300 employees and 604 physicians, the hospital is home to Kapi‘olani Women’s Center, Kapi‘olani Breast Center and Kapi‘olani Women’s Cancer Center, the state’s only dedicated breast health and gynecological cancer centers. Kapi‘olani is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility that offers numerous community programs and services, such as the Kapi‘olani Child Protection Center and Sex Abuse Treatment Center. Through its affiliation with the University of Hawai‘i, it is home to the John A. Burns School of Medicine Pediatrics and OB/GYN residency programs.
The Family Birth Center at Kapi‘olani is dedicated to providing quality, ! comprehensive and family-centered obstetrical care, specializi! ng in high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery. This department is composed of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum and Nursery units and provides tertiary, level III perinatal services as well as obstetrical care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients. The team of professional staff at the Family Birth Center supports and educates patients and families to facilitate the optimal health of both mothers and newborns.
If you are a compassionate, sensitive caregiver and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment, you could be the ideal candidate for our Registered Nurse position at Kapi‘olani’s Family Birth Center. You would provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care. You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. One (1) year recent registered nurse experience in high risk labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field. Two (2) years recent registered nurse experience in high risk labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum. Current or recent fetal monitoring class and certif! ication.
