At the Kapiolani Child Protection Center, our Nurse
Practitioners promote quality, continuous and
comprehensive healthcare for clients by providing
nursing assessments, consultations, pre-placement
physical examinations for children entering foster
placements, and assessments of children who have been
neglected and injured. Additional responsibilities may
include participation in multidisciplinary child abuse
teams and serving as a resource for patients, families
and medical staff in regards to child abuse and neglect
issues.

Minimum Qualifications: Must meet education requirements
for Hawaii state licensing. Current Hawaii RN license.
Current Hawaii APRN license. Current APRN or Nurse
Practitioner certification in area of specialty. Current
BLS/HCP card. Two years practical experience in
pediatrics.
Preferred: Four years practical experience in dealing
with child maltreatment. Teaching and/or public speaking
experience.
