This position has promotion potential to the GS-07 grade level. You must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. DUTIES:
The primary purpose of the position is to perform law enforcement work. Major duties and responsibilities:
- Perform a wide variety of complex law enforcement duties generated by the surrounding area of the installation.
- Respond to and/or investigate complaints of minor to complex incidents, and patrol the installation via motorized vehicles, walking, or bicycling.
- Gather and analyze facts, take statements, perform traffic law enforcement, and perform law enforcement duties at fixed posts such as entry and exit gates throughout the installation.
- Implemen! t antiterrorism/force protection measures, write technical descriptive documents/reports, and perform other law enforcement duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

GS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that provided a basic knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, proc! edures, and operating methods. Specialized experience must demonstrate ! the following:
Assisting in performing routine, recurring kinds of fixed post and/or patrol assignments, such as traffic laws, regulations governing access to buildings, procedures for crimes in progress and governing rights of individuals.
OR
Successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelorÂ's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position.
OR
Possess a combination of specialized experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.
GS-06:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that provided a basic knowledge of standardized rules, methods, procedures and operating t! echniques. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Responding to calls/ alarms, investigating violations or reports of probable causes, performing traffic patrol and emergency response duties, arresting violators, providing crime prevention information, assisting accident victims by providing first aid, and writing detailed reports of incident.
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that provided knowledge of laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience as a Police Officer performing work responding to emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service during the watc! h. subdues and disarms those who are doing violence to other persons, a! ssists the injured, and administers first aid. Gathers and analyzes facts, seizes and protect evidence; take statements, advises violators of rights, makes diagrams, interviews witnesses and determines whether facts warrant apprehension/detention or lesser action.
Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
A secret security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.
Selectee may have to attend a regional police academy at a remote site.
Position may require occasional travel.
Weekend, holiday, and overtime work is required.
This position is subject to shift work.
Selectee will be required ! to work rotating shifts, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year.
Selectee is subject to 24 hour recall and will maintain a 24-hour recall notification number and in required to respond per installation policy/standard operating procedures.
Selectee may be subject to being interrupted from meal or other work breaks while on duty.
Selectee may be required to respond to off base circumstances as directed by the installation commander, in accordance with United States Marine Corps (USMC) and Department of Defense (DoD) policy.
Selectee must pass a sanctioned physical agility test, medical evaluation, periodic re-tests, job compatibility/psychological examination, all weapons qualifications prior to assigned duties and responsibilities, and must pass all pre-qualifications as required.
Selectee must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operatorÂ's license.
Selectee must be able to read, write and speak English! .
Must be able to use all police equipment, certify in the use! of radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable or collapsible baton, and obtain other certifications required to accomplish the duties of a law enforcement officer.
This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
Selectee must pass a National Agency Check and local background check.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must maintain height and weight appearance standards.
Must meet medical standards for Police Office in DoD 6055.05M and NEHC-TM OM 6260.
This is a Key/Emergency-Essential position. In the event of a crisis situation of war, the selectee must continue to perform assigned duties to support mission requirements until relieved by proper authority.
Selectee is required to wear a uniform and maintain appearance and groomi! ng standards per Marine Corps orders/policies.
Selectee must successfully complete a designated USMC Police Officers Course of Instruction and meet all certification requirements, to include weapons certifications, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), DoD and Joint Training Regulations, etc. Training may be conducted at a regional training facility.
Must be able to wear personal protective type safety equipment such as masks, suits, boots, and gloves.
Selectee may be required to attend the Inland Boat Operator Training Program or similar course.
