Straub is a complete health care system, which means the
primary care physicians, specialist physicians, clinics
and hospital staff are all part of the same
organization. Straub cares for and comforts patients
throughout the state at both the hospital and clinic
locations. Straub offers a network of neighborhood
clinics on Oahu, Lanai, and visiting specialists on the
Big Island as well as the services of nearly 200
physician specialists.
The Infection Control Coordinator provides infection
control oversight throughout the hospital. Identifies,
investigates, and records data concerning nosocomial
infections. Performs quality improvement studies to
identify and implement action plans to improve the
prevention of nosocomial infections. Implements, plans,
and measures unit rotation to meet JCAHO, state, and!
federal regulations as directed by the Infection Control !
Committee.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing,
epidemiology, or other clinical science. Current Hawaii
RN license. Current BLS/HCP card. Three (3) years acute
care clinical or clinical epidemiology experience.
Current APIC or CDC certification within 18 months of
hire.
Preferred: Experience in hospital infection control,
prevention, and surveillance. Experience in program
development and/or project coordination.
