Creates systems, processes and care standards to support the delivery of patient care in a safe, fiscally sound environment of service excellence. Utilizes evidence-based practice and continuous performance improvement in providing accessible, timely and efficient care. Accountable for the development and implementation of strategic and innovative initiatives to further the mission of The Queen's Medical Center - West Oahu. Responsible for outcomes and results to achieve the annual goals and objectives approved by the Board of Trustees. Recognizes and supports the unique heritage and mission established by the founders, Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV. Education/Certification and Licensure: * Bachelor's degree in Nursing. * Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Heath Administration or related field. * Current Hawaii license as a Registered Nurse. * Current certification in CPR at the Healthcare Professional level. Experience: * Five (5) years acute care nursing management/leadership experience in any combination of the following: critical care, surgical services, emergency, medical surgical services and/or nursing administration, preferably in a comparable hospital. * Solid understanding of business principles, i.e., strategic and financial planning, budgeting, business planning, organization theory. * Proven leadership skills, i.e., planning, communications, motivation, mentoring, interpersonal skills. * Track record of managing multiple departments/functions, preferably in a comparable health care setting. * Demonstrated knowledge of operat! ions and health care management.
