Provides advisory support to leadersh! ip at organizations to ensure compliance with related laws, re! gulations, protection of the environment and conservation of natural and cultural resources.
Directs the oversight for historical preservation management of facilities at multiple sites to ensure deadlines are met.
Maintains liaison with organizations, contractors, and lateral and higher authorities through correspondence, telephone contacts, and personal visits to maintain awareness of the status of the historic preservation program. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Basic Requirement
A degree in architecture; or r! elated field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design; and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.
OR
Combination of education and experience—college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and science underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings. The adequacy of background is demonstrated by at least one of the following: (I) Related Curriculum - Degree from an accredited college or university in architectural engineering may be accepted as satisfying in full the ba! sic requirements, provided the completed course work in architectural e! ngineering provided knowledge, skills, and abilities substantially equivalent to those provided in the courses specified in response A. (II) Experience - An applicant lacking a degree in architecture must have at least 1 year of experience in a n architectÂ's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture. In the absence of college courses, 5 years of such experience is required. This experience must have demonstrated that the applicant has acquired a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of professional architecture.
Minimum Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you wit! h the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1.) coordinating complex and technical historic preservation program segments; 2.) complying with historic preservation regulations, standards, and procedures; 3.) preparing research reports on historic structures; 4.) preparing plans and specification for preservation projects; and 5.) managing problems and inquiries of the adverse impacts and consequences that could occur from inattention to historic preservation. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. Applicants should meet the DAWIA Certification requirements for the Facilities Engineering Career Field and be certified at Level II at the time of appl! ication.
