The Corridor Group's talent solutions team is recruiting for an Education Coordinator (EC) for our client in the Honolulu, Hawaii area.
Position Summary:
The E! ducation Coordinator (EC) provides orientation and ongoing education to clinical staff based upon the shared values, mission and vision. The EC assists clinical staff in development of the professional competencies needed to ensure quality and comprehensive physical, emotional, social and spiritual care of HH patients and their families. The EC assesses the learning needs of clinical staff and collaborates with the clinical supervisors and the Quality Assurance Nurse to provide ongoing educational and mentor resources to ensure improvement in clinical skills.
The EC develops and coordinates educational, preceptor, and mentor programs utilizing external and internal material and human resources. The EC promotes a trans-disciplinary care model and recognized principles of hospice and palliative patient-centered care. The EC serves as a resource to clinical staff to achieve excellence in all aspects of their practice, job responsibilities and customer service.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical Training
O! rientation / Preceptor Program
Provides training and development to clinical employees at all sites and ensures uniformity of training curricula and training compliance with policies and procedures, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations
Develops and implements clinical competencies determined via trends, learning needs, clinical indicators and input of supervisors, managers, and QI staff
Coordinates the patient and family education program; purchases or oversees development of educational and resource materials to support patient and family satisfaction and confidence
Teaches classes as needed utilizing principles of adult learning and critical thinking
Coordinates other clinical staff or external experts to serve as teachers to achieve learning objectives
Develops education and training policies and practice guidelines as assigned
Leads organization in the of use electronic media for training where economically feasible ! and functionally effective
Retains and manages outside training and education resources as necessary
Ensures maintenance of records of clinical training completed by agency staff
Supports leadership training for the management team
Monitors, coordinates, implements and evaluates the general orientation program for clinical staff
Develops, implements and evaluates education, training and professional development programs for each discipline including a new hospice staff and new RN graduate nurse / new MSW orientation and development program.
Develops, implements and evaluates a preceptorship program and senior nurse mentor program.
Provides support, education and follow up to clinical preceptors and senior nurses.
Reviews orientation and technical training curriculum to develop an agency curriculum and improve training outcomes

Contributes to employees evaluations
Assesses the educati! on needs of the clinical staff based on quality improvement and risk ma! nagement data, innovations in clinical care delivery and technology, regulatory requirements, the performance goals of the agency, testing, direct observation, interviews, and feedback from staff and management
Collaborates with the clinical managers and supervisors in evaluating new products for patient care.
Collaborates with the supervising Clinical Social Worker to source or develop quality training opportunities for clinical social work staff
Collaborates with the Volunteer Coordinator to identify volunteer educational needs and provide ongoing training opportunities
Collaborates with grant-writing staff to identify possible funds for employee education

Qualifications
Registered Nurse with current license with the S! tate of Hawaii. Masters in Nursing required, in Education, Clinical Nur! se Specialist or related field.
Minimum 3 years clinical experience in hospice and/or palliative care
Demonstrated education experience and knowledge of adult learning principles
Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
