Kapi’olani is well recognized as Hawaii's leader in the
care of women and children. As the major teaching
hospital for the state’s OB/GYN program, Kapi'olani has
a highly trained team of physician specialists, nurses,
technologists and therapists that share a special
understanding of women's needs. The Operation Room
patient population includes all ages of those with
surgical, obstetrical, gynecological, or medical
conditions. This experienced and caring team
incorporates evidence-based practice and state of the
art technologies in their multidisciplinary approach to!
care.
The Surgical Technologist performs assigned sur! gical
scrub duties and maintains sterile techniques for all
surgical procedures. Prepares the operating room,
equipment, and instruments for surgery while maintaining
aseptic techniques.

Minimum Qualifications: Post High School vocational
training. Current BLS/HCP card. Certified Surgical
Technologist with the National Board of Surgical
Technologist and Surgical Assistant (NBSTSA). Completion
of an accredited surgical technologist training program.
Preferred:! Surgical technologist certification. One year
surgical technologist experience.
