Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse - (NICU RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 D/N

This hospital is Hawaiâ! €˜i's only designated pediatric center. It boasts the only emergency room with specialists trained in pediatric emergency medicine, the only Adolescent Unit for the treatment of teens and the only intensive care unit to treat critically-ill children.

Under minimal supervision, you will be responsible for patient care functions and the directing and supervision of subordinate care providers. This facility is looking for at least 3 years experience working in a Level III NICU or Level IV (ECMO) NICU with intensive level of care admission criteria that includes ventilator support (mechanical, jet, oscillator), inotropic support or umbilical lines.

The role of the neonatal intensive care nurse (NICU nurse) is to provide direct and specialized care for newborns needing close monitoring due to premature birth, birth defects, infection, or other medical conditions requiring surgery or therapy. Working in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with doctors and ot! her healthcare professionals, the NICU RNs assist in developin! g and implementing a plan of care for high-risk newborns requiring high-technology care, including ventilators, incubators, or other special equipment or surgery.

Required Qualifications
ACLS, NRP, PALS, American Heart Association ONLY
