This position is located in the Mechanical Shop (Code 930) of the Production Resources Department (Code 900) for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF).
For Department of Navy (DON) employees, this will be a temporary action (promotion, reassignment, etc.) not-to-exceed 2 years.

As a Marine Machinery Mechanic Supervisor II your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Planning, assigning and coordinating the critical aspects of the shop's non-nuclear mechanical work involving manufacturing, overhauling, refitting, converting and repairing submarines, surface crafts and non-ship work;
- Improving work processes and utilizing manpower and material resources effectively and efficiently;
- Ensuring manpower and material costs are directly linked to program/mission objectives.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to supervise through subordinate supervisors in the Marine Machinery trade. - Planning work schedules, manpower, skill and material requirements;

- Training or instructing subordinates on procedures, specifications, instructions, plans, priorities and schedules;
- Estimating material and manpower needed to accomplish specific jobs;
- Determining work procedures and prepare layouts for work projects; and/or
- Implementing new work improvements.

You may be assigned to work areas where certain potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present. Work requires intermittent heavy exertion, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, cramped work positions, visual acuity, close hand-eye coordination, color vision, depth perception, and analysis by ear.
