Responsibilities
The Warehouseman reports to the Purchasing Agent or the Maintenance Manager. The Warehouseman is responsible for the operations associated with shipping, receiving, and inventory maintenance while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; data entry, and arranging for the transportation of items. The Warehouseman should possess knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques necessary for procurement and distribution
This position operates under flexible parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the position. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively and efficiently decreases accidents and errors and increase profits.
Receive and count stock items, and record data associated with the close of purchase orders.
Determine shipping methods for materials using knowledge of related procedures, routes, and rates.
Verify inventory computations by conducting cycle counts, and correspond with buyers and appropriate managers to rectify any damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
Assist in directing the delivery or routing of materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand trucks, company vehicles, or sorting bins.
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in the warehouse and perform inventory replenishment requisitioning as needed.
Assist with data entry, processing requisitions, and cross train with buyers to support purchasing functions as required.
Monitor parts counter and usage of company owned tools and equipment.
Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED Certification, or experience in a similar role preferred. Forklift certification preferred.
