This position is a Human Resources Assistant (MIL/OA) located in the Personnel Support Activity Detachment (PSD) and will be responsible for providing military pay and personnel services to all Navy personnel and transportation and travel claim settlement services to all military, civilian, and other personnel.

Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Relocation expenses are not authorized.
You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
DUTIES:
As Human Resource Assistant (MIL/OA), you will perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to the following:
- Processing a wide variety of paperwork and standard actions necessary to process members for assignment, reenlistment, promotion, awards, performance evaluation, routine boards, separation or similar matters.
- Processing actions through personnel data system.
- Reviewing products to identify and correct mismatched data in the system and to ensure projections and confirmations have consummated.
- Using a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals in the performance of military personnel functions and file maintenance.
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience processing a wide-variety of personnel actions; maintaining personnel records and files; and utilizing web-based data systems and software programs.
Or have successfully completed 4 years of education above high school.
Or have a combination of specialized experience and education that equates to one year.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

TYPING - This position requires a qualified typist - only applicants who document Â"yesÂ" they are a qualified typist in their Occupational Questionnaire will be considered.
The work is primarily sedentary with some carrying of computer reports, boxes, and ledgers of moderate weight. Work requires long periods of sitting at a desk, and manual dexterity to the degree required to use a personal computer and other basic office equipment.
